Tiffany Turner's THE LOST SECRET OF THE GREEN MAN is the second in her Crystal Keeper Chronicles series. Wanda, the Crystal Keeper of the first book, is called on once again to help the world of the fairies. Wanda is beginning middle school, with all-too-common insecurities with peers and bullies, so she is especially heartened to find a new friend Edina (Eddie) with whom she has a special bond, as both are Crystal Keepers. Crystal Keepers have the responsibility of keeping the fairies safe, and they wear special crystals around their necks, which keep them in touch with the fairy world. Wanda and Eddie work together to figure out why bees are dying and fairies are disappearing and have to research at the local crystal store. They discover about the "Green Man", a forest king who may be of help, but they have to fly to Ireland to find him. All is wonderfully magical and addresses both the imaginations and friendships of young girls. Brewford and Castrotomas, both wise and magical cats, add to the fun, as does the beautiful unicorn Chyra and the deliciously evil Shadow Sorcerer, Balkazaar.
